SUNY Oswego needs more renovations
The “fixing” of the potholes around Tyler Hall are ridiculous. There were potholes around the west side of campus that were a tripping hazard. They were right next to a ramp which should be accessible for people with disabilities and the large holes in the ground defeat the point of the ramp.
Last week, the school finally filled the potholes with asphalt. However, the ground is still uneven and does not look good. Especially since during the time of year where there are more school tours. Is this the way we want to present our campus?
It now seems more accessible but with the amount of construction, there should be more effort put into making the ground easy for students to walk on.
Students have stumbled and have had to move around the gaping hole in the ground. It makes it difficult for people to not only walk, but also ride a bike or scooter around campus. There are many potholes closer to Hewitt Hall that were not even covered. It seems that they only filled the holes to stop students from complaining.
The school needs to make it easier for students to find information on the college’s construction. A form to place complaints about issues around schools should be more accessible for students. More emails from facility services to the students about the development of renovations would show that there are positive improvements to the school being made.
There are needed renovations across campus that need to be permanently fixed, not just a quick patch job. Hopefully the asphalt over the potholes are a temporary solution until it can be redone completely. It is important to have the campus to not only look nice but be easy to move around for students and faculty.
