Coachella girl power slays with No Doubt, Lana Del Rey sets

The highly anticipated festival known as Coachella where celebrities, influencers and music lovers come together and listen to their favorite artists and dress up in their extravagant outfits to post on social media began April 12. Coachella 2024 had some great headliners including Lana Del Rey (“Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd?”), Tyler the Creator (“DOGTOOTH”), and Doja Cat (“MASC”).

This year’s performances allowed many fans to see their favorite artists who rarely perform come out and show off their talent and stage performances. No Doubt (“Push and Shove”) had their first reunion as a band since 2015 on the Coachella stage. Gwen Stefani came out with a killer stage presence, interacting with the crowd just like she did in the 90’s. Her outfit was a nod to her wardrobe back in the day, rocking two buns in her hair. Stefani had her ripped plaid outfit, with face gems along her eyebrow and her classic red lip.

No Doubt’s performance played homage to their older songs and performances. Stefani’s stage presence was still vibrant and funky. Her crowd work was fun and interesting, doing her “I’m Just a Girl” bit where she yells at the boys to copy her. Another really fun element that No Doubt added was bringing out Olivia Rodrigo (“Guts”). Rodrigo also mimicked Stefani’s outfit with Rodrigo’s hair in buns and rocky outfit with a tank top that says “I heart ND”. Rodrigo and Stefani’s chemistry was electric and exciting to watch.

This girl power was felt throughout the Coachella setlist with Lana Del Rey headlining. Del Rey rode into her setlist in “Lana” style on the back of a motorcycle in a beautiful baby blue dress. Her hair was a gorgeous light brown color that went down her back, framing her face well. Lana’s setlist had fan-favorite songs, most notably when Billie Eilish (“What Was I Made For?”) came out as a surprise guest and sang Del Rey’s classic song “Video Games”.  Eilish was gushing over performing with Del Rey even saying, “This is the reason for half of you b*****s existence, including mine.”

Many Lana stans were going on social media to share their great experiences at the Coachella performance. A lot of the fans were mesmerized by Del Rey’s performance and look, many of them tearing up at “Video Games”. Any Lana fan will know that her whispering singing style can mesmerize anyone. Her voice brings you to a place of nostalgia, and this being her first performance back at Coachella in ten years is exciting and enjoyable for any fans who were lucky to make it there. This year at Coachella was all about female power and solidarity. Having so many wonderful women headline and perform at Coachella was exciting to watch, even from TikTok.
