Every Friday, Spotify launches an updated compilation of new music releases. This weekâs update features new songs by renowned artists such as Ariana Grande (âThank u, Nextâ), Halsey (âHopeless Fountain Kingdomâ), Drake (âScorpionâ), and French Montana (âJungle Rulesâ). This weekâs edition highlights 98 new tracks. Here are some of the songs listeners will not want to miss out on.
Halsey is back with her new single âGraveyard.â The background to the songâs lyrics is Halsey stuck in the midst of a toxic relationship with someone she loves.
Another new release discussing relational sentiments is âThe End Of The Game,â which discusses a romance the narrator finds himself in, where his girlfriend is on the verge of ending the relationship. Thus, the narrator is afraid of losing this partner.
Another singer who is back with a new release is American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth. His new single, âMother,â displays a new sound, which Puth had already showcased earlier this summer via Twitter. The singer had released a new single titled âI Warned Myselfâ on Aug 21. Both singles will be included on his third studio album, although no release date has been announced as of yet.
âOneRepublicâ is also back on the road with their new single âSomebody to Love.â Despite its melancholic title, the song is sure to help you through those endless study nights before a quiz or a paper is due.
The Lumineers have a new single, too. âSalt And The Seaâ is part of the bandâs third studio album, âIIIâ The album is a cinematic narrative told in three chapters: âGloria Sparksâ , Junior Sparks and Jimmy Sparks (III). Each of the stories told in this album deal with individuals that are close to lead vocalist Wesley Schultz.
However, if you are more into punk rock, both Fall Out Boy and Green Day are back with new releases.
Green Dayâs new single âFather Of Allâ matches the new albumâs title, although fans will need to hold on a little longer for this one, as the new album will not see daylight until early February of next year, ending their discographic hiatus that has stretched since 2016.
Party of four, Fall Out Boy has also enlightened fans with a new single release this week. Their new song, âDear Future Self (Hands Up)â featuring Haitian singer-songwriter Wyclef Jean is a mix of punk rock with a touch of Caribbean sound that will for sure get you off your feet.
Lastly, if none of the above match your musical likes and what you want to listen to is rap or hip hop, you have plenty of choices this week, as artists such as Drake, Major Lazer, Lil Nas X, and French Montana have dropped new singles this week as well.
Canadian singer-songwriter Drake is back with âBehind Barz,â a bonus song pertaining to the compilation âTop Toy,â named after the British TV show which is making a comeback in a critical time for the United Kingdom. The show gives a voice to young lives in a situation of deprivation, oppression and violence on Londonâs housing estates.
