Last season, no one knew what to expect from the Oswego State men’s ice hockey team. The Lakers were a team with more new faces than familiar ones, and they had just lost one of the most successful classes in program history. By season’s end, the team put together a fifth consecutive 20-win season, repeated as SUNYAC tournament champions and returned to the NCAA Frozen Four for the fifth straight year.

Although the Lakers fell to Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the national semifinals, thus ending their season without a national championship, the questions had been answered. This was a team with a ton of talent that would compete for championships in the years to come.

It is now the second year for all the new faces, and expectations are high. It is time to take a look at what the team will look like this season, what some key matchups will be and who some players to look out for will be.
