Before the Thanksgiving holiday, broomball and basketball were in playoff mode with broomball playoff elimination games and basketball championships.

Men’s competitive broomball league started its playoffs Tuesday, Nov. 13 between the Pwoi Eaters and O-Town Yuccas. Pwoi Eaters secured an early lead, ending the first period leading, 2-0. They went on to score another four goals in the second period, ending the game, 6-0. In a similar game, Pillow Flops defeated Toon Squad, 4-0. High scores were a theme of the night as Locked Out played All Net, winning 7-2.

Games on Sunday, Nov. 18 saw some overtime action, as Oswego Hurricanes and Kisses n Thugs of the co-recreational bracket kept up their defense during regular play. Skilled goaltenders and good defense kept either team from scoring. The game went into overtime with Oswego Hurricanes scoring the only goal, leaving the score, 1-0. In another co-recreational game, Lucky Moose was not so lucky, as they suffered a 5-1 loss from Sticks up the Pass.

The intramural basketball league held its championship games prior to the Thanksgiving break with Tubby Q taking first place for the co-recreational league. Tubby Q defeated The Dribblers, 63-53, making them undefeated for the season. Reigning champs, Tubby Q took first place for the second year and are looking forward to spring semester’s season. The game was a team effort, as they all helped to secure their win and ultimately take the championship. A notable player, Katrina Clarke, was an all-star player which led to their success.

In the men’s competitive league, Jellyfish secured the championship defeating Figure It Out 59-45. Jellyfish completed the season undefeated, secured by its win in the championship.
