Kickball benefits Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The kickball tournament hosted by Delta Phi Epsilon raised $500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Greek organization Delta Phi Epsilon of SUNY Oswego teamed up with the Central New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in order to coordinate a fundraiser in efforts to raise money for the foundation. The members of Delta Phi Epsilon held a Cystic Fibrosis kickball tournament and raised $500 dollars for the foundation. The event took place on the SUNY Oswego campus on Lee Hall softball field on Sept.30, 2012.

Several different Greek organizations from the SUNY Oswego campus took part in the kickball tournament. The organizations include Sigma Tau Chi, Phi Kappa Tau, Sigma Gamma, Zeta Beta Tau, Zeta Chi Zeta and Tau Kappa Epsilon. The winners of the Cystic Fibrosis kickball tournament were Delta Kappa Kappa.

The members of the Greek organization Delta Phi Epsilon helped in the development and implementation of the Cystic Fibrosis kickball tournament. Jenna Russo, the vice president of programming was the leader in planning and organizing the event.

“The Kick CF event was not only fun, but the overall experience gives a feeling that one cannot even describe,” Russo said. “Giving back to others is a main priority to us and we cannot wait to host more events for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the future.”

Delta Phi Epsilon plans to use this successful program as a springboard to raise even more money for the foundation in the future.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in finding a cure to fight cystic fibrosis. The foundation is a nonprofit organization works to help the development of new drugs and to help people affected by the disease.
