New Super Mario

Super Mario

Nintendo doesn’t deviate too much from the classic Mario platformer in "New Super Mario Bros. Wii." The goal is the same as it’s been since the beginning: kill enemies and get coins while striving toward the castle to rescue the princess. It stands out though, because now up to four players can compete or cooperate on the same screen. Players take the role of Mario, Luigi, or a blue or yellow Toad. Also new to this game is the adaptive difficulty that allows the game to essentially play itself for those who struggle. This is a good solution for families and less casual gamers and can be skipped for the hardcore Mario enthusiasts. Finally, there are some new power-ups like the penguin suit, which allows players to freeze enemies. For a good party experience, pick this game up on Nov. 15.
