Women’s volleyball suffers narrow losses to Morrisville, Cortland

Despite a 3-2 loss, the Oswego State volleyball showcased a great performance versus SUNY Morrisville on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Junior Priscilla McReynolds had an amazing game with multiple key blocks, hits and digs, while leading the offensive attack with a stellar 18 kills. Her defense and ball placement was on point, receiving multiple key passes from connecting piece Mya Bush. Freshman standout Chloe Arnaiz built upon her strong first-year campaign with multiple strong offensive movements, including a slew of point-winning hits. Arnaiz followed second in kills for this game with 13 kills, four blocks and four digs.

The outside hitter mentioned how the energy felt high, passionate and lively, and that when those circumstances are in play, it makes her happy to see everyone thrive, and that makes her play her best.

Another great standout was senior Grace Gdovin, who played strong defense with multiple essential digs and service aces, which helped keep the Mustangs at bay at points. Junior Juliana Santafemia had a stunning game-high 19 digs, adding to her total of 170 across the 2026 season so far.

While the Lakers fell in a narrow 3-2 contest to the Mustangs and then a 3-0 bout to Cortland on Oct. 16, head coach Jon Stenman and company are optimistic about the remainder of the season.
