As the fall approaches, the excitement of another semester at SUNY Oswego begins.
Every semester, there are new things happening on and off campus to give students something to do. One of the new things is the 7 Brew Coffee store opening where Popeyes used to be, just off the 104 highway.
“ First thing that we, that we’re going to bring is we’re going to bring energy, and we’re going to bring culture,” Brian Tierney, director of talent acquisition and director of operations WNY, said.
7 Brew started in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2017 and in the past nine years has grown to 800 locations across the country. Oswego’s location will be the 14th in New York State. This drive-thru-only stop offers coffee, lemonades, smoothies and shakes. Tierney pointed out that the vast menu options offer 20,000 variations of drinks.
7Brew will be opening this fall, although there is no exact date yet, according to Tierney.
“ If we can make people’s day a little bit brighter coming through our drive-thru, then we have definitely done our job,” Tierney said.
Visiting 7 Brew is not the only thing to look forward to in the fall. The Oswegonian has highlighted four other local destinations for entertainment and food.
Lighthouse Lanes- The bowling alley, located behind the second McDonald’s, is a great place for friends to go. Every day of the week has a different offer to make bowling affordable and easy. For example, every Wednesday is $1 for a game of bowling. There is also a food and drink menu of things like nachos and slushies.
Oswego Cinema 7- The movie theater is located on Bridge Street and is hard to miss with its glowing marquee sign. All of the latest movie releases can be found here. Movie theater popcorn will always help enhance the moviegoing experience. One promotion that the cinema offers is $5 movie tickets every Tuesday.
Breitbeck Park- The park offers a fantastic walk along the water, and a playground with swings and a zipline. An outdoor gym is also free to use if Cooper gym gets too repetitive.
The Fuse- This restaurant serves Japanese cuisine like sushi, poke bowls and boba tea. Located on West First Street, it is a great place to go for a break from the dining halls or after a trip to the Thrifty Shopper.
