Super DIRT Week is coming back to Oswego for almost the tenth year in a row on Oct. 6.
This event will take place at the Steel Palace, Oswego Speedway, and has been coined âRacingâs Biggest Block Party.â
âSuper DIRT Week is the biggest dirt racing event in the Northeast, so itâs a canât-miss event for dirt racing and general motorsports fans across the region,â Nick Graziano, the PR manager with Super DIRT Week, said.
Throughout the week, fans of racing can expect a party almost every day. There will be concerts held between Wednesday and Saturday at the Oswego Speedway and a DJ party every night, according to Graziano. Organizers of the event have tried to make Super DIRT Week an event for everyone, not just motorsport fans.
âEver since Super DIRT Week moved to Oswego in 2016, weâve worked hard to create an event thatâs exciting for the Oswego community,â Graziano said.
The actual racing of the occasion also happens throughout the six-day event. There are over 300 cars entered into the event, according to Graziano. There are two days of qualifying races for the different types of cars. DIRTcar 358 Modifieds and DIRTcar Pro Stocks on Wednesday night, and Super DIRTcar Series and DIRTcar Sportsman on Thursday.
Friday and Saturday are the main events and there will be a fireworks display after the final race.
Fans should get to the racetrack early in order to take in the spectacle.
âThey can enjoy the concert, get free swag from the fan engagement team, walk around and explore the great food options, check out the merch vendors and then enjoy some racing,â Graziano said.
To get tickets for the event, fans can go to SuperDIRTWeek.com or walk up to any of the gates at Oswego Speedway the day of the races. On Wednesday, Oct. 8, and Thursday, Oct. 9, college students can get tickets for $10, according to Graziano.
Super DIRT Week runs from Oct. 6 to Oct. 11. Fans can visit the website for a full schedule of events and Graziano recommends downloading the Super DIRT Week app, which has everything needed for the event.
