Quick Recap: Women’s Ice Hockey vs Williams College

Early on in the first period the Lakers were the better team and had momentum. Three penalties in the last 10 minutes derailed their gameplan and the Ephs stormed back. At the end of one both teams were tied 1-1.

Emily Kreuger was able to put  puck through Trovato’s five-hole after she whiffed trying to clear the puck when it jumped off the end boards and came into her crease. Alex Lovaas and Talia Simon assisted on the power play goal at 16:21 of the first period.

Victoria Blake made up for her cross-checking minor that led to the Ephs goal when she tied the game less than a minute later. She beat Julia Mini after Brianna Rice fed Blake the puck at the point. Erika Truschke was given the secondary assist.

Oswego State stayed out of the box in the middle frame and were able to walk away with a 2-1 lead. Alexa Aramburu worked the puck from out behind the net and was able to find Alli Ullrich wide open along the blue line. Ullrich was able to beat Mini blocker side for her fifth goal of the year. The Lakers’ second goal second goal was scored at 15:06 of the second period.

The Lakers added some insurance in the third and went on to win the game 3-1. Laura Thacker drove to the net and then dropped the puck back to Goodon who found the twine at 6:07 of the third period. Sarah Grupp was given the secondary assist on the insurance marker.

Trovato made 24 saves on the day while Mini registered 26 in the loss.
