Drug bust half mile away from campus turns up 100 grams, $8,000 of cocaine

Two Oswego men were arrested Wednesday after 100 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $8,000 was seized from their residences in a raid by Oswego Police.

The homes raided, located at 205 W. Seneca St. and 148 W. Bridge St., are about a half mile away from the Oswego State campus.

The men arrested were Pedro J. Velazquez, 33, and Darin M. Silvia, 19.

Velazquez was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Silvia was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

A small amount of marijuana was also found during the search.

The suspects are being held by the Oswego City Police Department pending their arraignment.
