Body found in Scriba

Volunteer searchers have found a body that Oswego County Sheriff’s investigators believe may be a man who went missing after an automobile accident in Scriba.

Ray Gregory, 46 of Fulton, is believed to have been driving his 2009 Dodge Avenger when it was involved in a roll over type accident on County Route 53 Saturday, Nov. 5, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

Emergency personnel responding to the accident were unable to find any victims and believed that the driver may have walked away from the accident. Family was unable to make contact with Gregory and there has been a search for him since that time.

Volunteers from New York and New Jersey had been looking for Gregory and found a male body approximately one mile away from the crash site. The body will be brought to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office to be identified and to determine the cause of death.
