Changes for changing times: No longer just a newspaper, but a multimedia organization

So you might have noticed that your Oswegonian looks a little different. The page is bigger, the type is edgier, and there’s this thing stuck inside your usual fold with a bunch of color on it.

Don’t be alarmed, your paper hasn’t been hijacked by the staff of The Post Standard. 

Over the summer, The Oswegonian  was given to opportunity to print locally after two years of printing with Scotsman Press in Syracuse. When we received the news that the Palladium Times would resume printing in the City of Oswego, we made the jump.

In the end, we did it for you, the reader.  With printing in Oswego, we can guarantee your paper by 10:30 a.m. every Friday, just in time sneak a read during your morning lecture.

Inside you’ll find a brand new section, The Laker Review. In it you’ll find full color coverage of all the stuff you really care about; beer, video games, and movie reviews. It’s also in a handy tabloid for a quick read in the afore mentioned lecture class. Look forward for a fun and dynamic entertainment section to prime you for your weekend.

For the rest of the paper, the longer page puts us in the class of professional papers, and that’s exactly what the Oswego State community deserves. Better graphics, cleaner type, solid reporting and entertainment news are the hallmarks of a great newspaper. That’s what we hope to provide.

Oh, remember that thing called the Internet? We’ve got that covered too. The Oswegonian is back online at www.oswegonian.com and ready to (finally) provide you with the comprehensive multimedia content you’ve come to expect from a modern news organization. Yeah, we know, it’s about frickin’ time.

Look for upcoming features throughout the year, including video blogs, dynamic and up to the minute Oswego sports coverage, and in depth photos.

With some changes come some growing pains. I’m sure you’ll find something this week that just isn’t quite right.  Well don’t just sit their, tell us about. Send us and e-mail, write us a letter, or give us a call. After all we’re funded by you, so we’re here to serve you.

Hopefully you’ve read us before, and  you’ll continue to find us your source for everything Oswego State. If  you haven’t, we hope you’ll venture inside and find somethinbg that keeps you coming back for more.

A lot has changed in the news business lately. But while the big boys of news are taking their gut checks, The Oswegonian is going strong, doing what we do best and giving the best possible Oswego news we can provide.
