Campus Recreation Report

The champions were crowned in the Co Rec and Men’s Floor Hockey Leagues.

In the men’s floor hockey championship game, it was Short Sticks versus Dangle Snipe & Celly. It was a high scoring game and players on both teams picked up hat tricks, including Michael Henry from Short Sticks and Brian Hamilton, the captain of Dangle, Snipe & Celly. Short Sticks put in a good effort but, in the end, Dangle Snipe & Celly came out on top, 9-5, with goals from Jordan Giller, Zachary Kollar, Andrew Lazzaro and Wes Randall.

In the Co Rec floor hockey championship game, Car RAMROD faced off against Ugly Pucklings. Car RAMROD dominated the game, led by Nep Epping who scored four of his team’s five goals. They took home the championship, 5-1.

The Co Rec basketball playoffs got underway with the first semifinal game of the Co Rec tournament. The No. 5 seed Ballcoholics upset the No. 1 seed Wild Card, 72-64, to advance to the championship game. The Kung Fu Pandas defeated the Honey Badgers in the second semifinal game on Wednesday, 66-64, to earn the opportunity to play the Ballcoholics in the championship game. The game was played too late on Thursday to make it into this issue.

In the quarterfinal round of the men’s basketball playoffs, Size Don’t Matter knocked out OswegosVeryOwn, 57-49 and Lee Hall Legends dominated the Lebron’s Hairline, 64-35. On the other side of the bracket, OzRaq easily beat the Ronny Turiafs and Iblaka Flocka Flame defeated The Knees de Rose, 72-50, to move onto the semifinals. Ozraq beat Iblaka Flocka Flame, 49-37, and Lee Hall Legends ousted Size Don’t Matter, 57-52, in the semifinals to earn themselves a spot in the championship game on Wednesday night. In what was a close game right down to the final seconds, Lee Hall Legends prevailed over Ozraq, 57-55, and took home the championship T-shirts.
