The Soccer League came to an end this past week with champions being crowned in the Men’s and CoRec League, while the Flag Football League heads into playoffs.

For the CoRec Soccer Championship, it was NARP LIFE versus Fitness Family & Friends. It was an extremely competitive game that could have gone either way. During the first half Cooper Hardiman scored the first goal of the game for Fitness Family & Friends. Both teams had numerous scoring opportunities, but no one could connect with the back of the net.

In the last two minutes of the game, NARP LIFE tried desperately to do anything they could to keep the score tied to force the game into overtime. However, Fitness Family & Friends secured the victory with a goal from Scott Mohr with a minute left in the game. Fitness Family & Friends took home the championship with a score of 2-1.

We The Movement and HoodRats FC competed for the Men’s Championship Soccer title. HoodRats FC defeated NARP LIFE in the semifinals 4-1, while We The Movement beat the Real Coholics 1-0 to advance to the finals. Michele Oswusu Kissi was the MVP for We The Movement, scoring two of the teams three goals. This led them to the victory over HoodRats FC with a score of 3-0.

The playoff field is set for the Men’s Flag Football League and play will begin this weekend. Team Phoenix is the No. 1 seed in the Men’s Competitive League going into the playoffs and is currently undefeated. There was also a playoff bracket in the Men’s Recreational League to determine who would get the chance to play in the bracket for a Championship T-shirt.  B Deep Reloaded breezed through the first side of the bracket to make it to the final game.

On the other side of the bracket, Aaron Kromer’s Beach Chai was able to just get through the Quarterfinals, beating the Inflated Balls 7-6. Aaron Kromer’s Beach Chai was then able to dominate ZBT, beating them 32-7 in the semifinals. Kromer’s Beach Chai was able to earn themselves a trip to the Flag Football playoffs after defeating B Deep Reloaded in the finals of the Men’s Recreational League Playoffs, 51-12. They will play Team Phoenix in the first round of the playoffs.
