The Co Rec flag football rivalry between the Oswego State Football Team and BD Reloaded added a new chapter with their meeting in the championship game on Oct. 2. The two sides split their first two games to force a third match up to determine the champions. The Oswego State Football Team put in a dominate performance, winning 29-6 to take home the Championship T-shirt.
The Co Rec softball playoffs are also underway. The two lowest seeds, The Big Knockers and the Blazin’ Jays, faced off in a quarterfinalsplayoff game to see who would make it to the semifinals. In the opening game, The Big Knockers won, 9-4, to advance. During the semifinals, The Big Knockers continued their winning streak to beat Where My Pitches At, 9-4, to advance to the finals. In the second semifinal, Who’s Your Papi? knocked off Balls Deep Reoladed, 15-1. Who’s Your Papi? won the championship, 11-6.
The broomball leagues started up this week, as the first two games of the men’s competitive league kicked off on Sunday. The Tune Squad and #JagrSelfie tied their first game of the season while Anne Frank’s Army Tanks edged out Stop N’ Dump, 1-0.
The soccer leagues are also approaching the playoffs. In the men’s competitive league, We The Movement defeated NARP LIFE in their final game of the season, 2-1, to end up the No. 1 seed in the division with a record of 4-1. After the loss, NARP LIFE ended up as the No. 2 seed, finishing the season with a record of 3-1-1. The Rowdy Roosters and Stop N’ Dump just missed out on the playoffs, both of the teams lost their last games of the season.
In the Co Rec competitive league, NARP LIFE beat Skillz That Killz, 3-0, in their final game of the season, making NARP LIFE the No. 1 seed in the playoffs and Skillz That Killz the No. 2 seed. The playoffs will continue over the next week, with the Co Rec champions being crowned on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
