The year of Oswego State’s birth 150 years ago is spelled out Tuesday by faculty, staff and students. The photo marked founder Edward Austin Sheldon’s birthday- Oct. 4, 1823- and was followed by a picnic and birthday cake. Sheldon founded Oswego in 1861 and began teaching nine future teachers in a cloakroom.
