OUTDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE:

Week two of Oswego State’s outdoor soccer league had five teams that went undefeated on the weekend: the Misfits, FC Ramrod, Cosby Kids, Dirty’s Money, and Animal House. In Team Swagger’s first win, Mike Lillis scored two goals in a 3-1 victory over The Leftovers. The Cosby Kid’s Tom Wowkowych pulled off a hat trick to lead his team to a 5-1 victory over TMNT. Team Swagger’s second time on the pitch this week ended in a 2-2 tie with Chris Van Fleet scoring both of Swagger’s goals.

SOFTBALL LEAGUE:

There were plenty of exciting games this week in Campus Recreation’s softball league but the matchup between WeWear Sox and Zeta Beta Honkies was definitely the most thrilling. WeWear Sox was able to hold on in the bottom of the last inning to squeeze out the win 11-10. After making a costly fielding error earlier in the inning, WeWear Sox’s third baseman Matt McQuade was able to cleanly field a hot grounder and make a strong throw to first, ending the game in exciting fashion. McQuade also added a double and a triple, while Andrew Quatrale had a double and a home run.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE:

This weekend concluded Oswego State’s co-recreation 5 vs. 5 beach volleyball league. The semifinals kicked off with Team Saget sweeping all three games from Sandstorm and Practice Safe Sets came up victorious over Team Hammer 2-1. In the final match, Practice Safe Sets rallied around its lightning fast defense and had plenty of opportunities to take the win but were unable to work up enough offense to combat Team Saget’s precise bump-set-spikes. In the end, Team Saget won the league championship by a score of 3-0 in the finals. Despite being shutout, Practice safe Sets made Team Saget work hard for every point. Campus Recreation would like to thank everyone who participated in the beach volleyball league this semester and for making it an exciting start to the semester.

FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE:

In week two of the flag football league, SAE came out right where it left off the weekend before with three wins. On Sunday, Studio 69 snuck by The Jagerbombs by a score of 21–20. Both The T.Ocho Show and Straight Cash Homie, along with SAE, went undefeated for the weekend. Play resumes Friday on Lee and Swetman Fields.
