Toucan’s loses liquor license, bar shuts down

Toucan’s liquor license was issued an emergency summary order suspension by the N.Y. State Liquor Authority, effective April 29 for serving to underage patrons, Sergeant James Dufrane of the Oswego City Police Department said.

"A couple of bartenders were arrested for serving alcohol to minors and that pretty much resulted in the suspension of their license," Dufrane said. "Typically they pay fines or have to stay closed for a certain amount of time."

In order to regain their license, Toucan’s must go participate in a hearing through the liquor authority, which "could take several months," Dufrane said.

Attempts to reach Toucan’s employees were unsuccessful.
